Description

From Big Rock car park take the defined track to Big Rock. Once on the rock plateau head towards its westerly edge. (You will see 4 separate steal ring bolts belay points). At the edge, head left (south) down the gentle mossy gully and follow the rock around to the right . to the bottom of the routes

National Park. Parks Vic website (Oct 2014) says "[...] Bookings are required for groups. Individuals are not required to book, but should check with the Park Office to enquire about the availability of sites. [...]"

Approach

The defined path from Big Rock car park , after 100m leads to a parks sign - follow the sign stating "Big Rock 20m".

Ethic inherited from The You Yangs

Mixed climbing with trad and some sports options, as well as bouldering. Bring hangar plates, as many climbs are equipped with carrot bolts.

Run out to the 1st carrot bolt (typical YY style).

Starts right of the tree and follows some lighter granite passing crystal dikes and an easy stance.

Up steepining section of the wall in front of tree through broken flakes.

Up to RB and straight up three BR. Top to DRBB. (For top-rope access, this is the set of anchors near the big scoop in which water pools, with a dyke running next to it.)

Start off a granite platform below a thick crystal dike.
