Description
Dry in the rain
Small former sandstone quarry with high quality routes. Mostly face climbing on crimps and pockets, but also a few cracks.
Access issues
Both sectors are closed from February 1st to July 31st each year due to nesting birds. Please respect closures; both Ziegelhausen I and Ziegelhausen II are accessible throughout the year.
Climing is only permitted in the northern part of the quarry; it is prohibited to climb on the crags further to the right.
Approach
10-20 min
By train
Take the train to "Heidelberg Orthopädie" and cross the river via the dam.
By car
Park opposite the dam at (
49.410526, 8.778279). If there is no space left, park at the grocery store a few hundret meters into Ziegelhausen.
Approach
From the northern end of the parking lot, follow the narrow path up the hill. Take the first turn to the right and follow the path until you reach sector Batman and, shortly after, sector Supercrack.
