Summary

Large boulders set in Native forest

Description

The area west of Laurel Camp Rd. Cohiba is the best developed area here at the moment, but there is potential at Lynch Blocks, and a few other places.

Access issues

This is part of the Lower Cotter water catchment area. There are a number of rehabilitation projects underway to manage run off and erosion.

Approach

Update June 2021
A gate has been installed on the West side of the intersection near Cohiba East. If this gate is closed, you'll have to walk along the road to get to Cohiba, Nookie, The Gym or Xanthorrhoea Hill.

Take the third right off Laurel ck rd - It's where most of the traffic has been.

Ethic inherited from Pierce's Creek

Pierces Creek is primarily a bouldering area however a number of naturally protected lines have been established over the years. No bolting of routes is accepted. Instead, ascentionists use natural protection on the higher problems, or where that is not available, rely on mats, spotters, and gumption.
