About thecrag
thecrag.com is a project to collect and distribute climbing information to the climbing community. The site was founded in 1999 by Simon Dale and Campbell Gome, two Australian climbers. In 2010 Brendan Heywood joined the team bringing new skills, ideas and energy. In 2011 Adam Pullen joined the team to help build our mobile applications. The website is currently funded by the site founders. We do our best to provide a good service, but our resources, time and money are very limited.
Previous experiments with raising revenue through sponsorship, advertising and charging for premium services met with (very) limited success. It is highly likely that we will have to seek sponsors and/or introduce advertising in the future.
