Sitting in a forest, among the trees, this crag has a unique atmosphere. It stays wet for a couple of days after rain.

Approach:

30-40 minute drive from Zagreb. Park on the side of the road and follow the path, it is a 5 minute walk.

Birthplace of climbing in Croatia.

Description:

The head of Klek rises steeply from the valley surrounding Ogulin. It is a popular destination for mountaineers as well as climbers. The weather can be unpredictable and windy. Most of the routes are multipitch, you will need some trad gear.

Approach:

From Zagreb there is a one hour drive to Ogulin, from there you have to cross the river Dobra and head uphill. There is a carpark in the village of Bjelsko, from there leads a marked footpath up to the cliff, about a 40 minute walk.

Description:

In Paklenica is mainly limestone with numerous routes of all difficulty. From short sport climbing routes to long multipitches. Entrance to Paklenica is in the narrowest part of the gorge. Here you can climb also with small children. Further up in the hill there are many multipitch routes in various grades. Most famous rock is Anica Kuk. Most of the routes in Paklenica are well aided with bolts. Grading is in UIAA or in French scale.
