Quality sandstone boulders just outside the town centre of Katherine.
Best conditions are during dry season mornings and evenings. Humidity is problematic during wet season - climbing early in the morning works ok for the desperate.
Normal sandstone ethic applies - please don't climb when wet or without a good drying period of a few days. However, this is not really a problem during the dry season.
Go towards Nitmiluk Gorge from the CBD on Giles St/Gorge Rd. Near the Hospital, there is a sign that says "Knotts Crossing". Park on the right side of the road, a little bit past the sign. It's a short walk into the bushes from there.
At the sign, you can also turn right and weave a car through the fence-gaps and get right next to the boulders.
