Logging ascents

There are a few reasons why you might want to log your ascents:

  • Keep a record of the routes you've done.
  • Allow friends to follow your what you have done.
  • Help us recommend routes for you.
  • Used in crowd sourced guidebooks.

Here's how you do it.

Adding a tick

From the route page:

  1. Click 'Log an ascent'
  2. Complete the details of your ascent
  3. Click 'Save'

Multiple shots of the same route

HOW TO VIDEO TO BE COMPLETED

From the route page:

  1. Click 'Log an ascent'
  2. Complete the details of your ascent
  3. For multiple shots click the 'Add shot' button.
  4. Click 'Save'
  5. (note that each shot will be saved as a separate ascent.)

Adding multiple ticks

If you've done several routes on the one wall you can:

  1. Check the boxes of the routes you've climbed by clicking on the route row.
  2. Click the tick icon next to the route.
  3. Complete the details of your ascents
  4. Click 'Save'

Adding pitch info

HOW TO VIDEO TO BE COMPLETED

From the route page:

  1. Click 'Log an ascent'
  2. Complete the standard details of your ascent
  3. Click the 'log pitch fields' checkbox to make pitch fields appear.
  4. Complete the pitch fields and add or delete pitches as required.
  5. Click 'Save'

Log first pitch only

HOW TO VIDEO TO BE COMPLETED

From the route page:

  1. Click 'Log an ascent'
  2. Click the 'log pitch fields' checkbox to make pitch fields appear.
  3. Delete all but the fist pitch of the route (or set all but the first pitch numbers to blank).
  4. The form should automatically update the ascent name by adding a 'P1' to the end of the name (eg 'Bard P1').
  5. Click 'Save'
  6. (note that you can manually edit the ascent name after the ascent has been created)

Note this method works for doing any single pitch of a route, not just the first pitch.

Log a linkup

HOW TO VIDEO TO BE COMPLETED

From the route page:

  1. Click 'Log an ascent'
  2. Click the 'log pitch fields' checkbox to make pitch fields appear.
  3. Type in the linkup climb name in the pitch linkup field.
  4. The form should automatically update the ascent name by adding a 'Linkup xyz' to the end of the name (eg 'Bard Linkup Eurydice').
  5. Click 'Save'
