Good fun. If this were at ground level, there'd be chalk all over it.

This would be good for anyone looking at getting into trad.

A bit scary, the bolting on this line is odd. Also seems hard for the grade, but it's not a bad line. I pulled on the 2nd draw on the 2nd pitch, did the rest clean. Might come back to do it properly.

Couple of runs on toprope placing gear for a hypothetical future lead attempt. Most of the gear is bomber, some of it is questionable. Got to get braver now.

Not quite cruisy enough to be a good warm up. Fluffed the start, came back down and did a better job after that.

Finally, sweet relief. I've spent so much time on this climb I feel I must be, along with the esteemed Prof Pablo Montoya, one of the world's leading authorities on its finer details. Great climb, but I sure am happy to move on.

An oldie, but a goodie. Probably better in the daylight hours.

The huge, eye-catching flake at the start will draw you in (bring big cams, or run it out on dicy pro - big props to Bec for taking the second option). After that, it's slab with a bit of a dumb walk up a vegetated ramp. The fourth pitch is surprisingly good. Glad we did it, never coming back.

Fun climbing on solid rock with plenty of excellent pro, interspersed with some patches of vegetation and choss. Very enjoyable route.

Looks thoroughly intimidating from the ground, but all the holds appear as you need them. Mostly pretty good pro, though the traverses are inevitably a bit run out. Hilarious 3rd pitch.

Really enjoyable way to get down to and up from the lower bay.

Dogged the onsight, got it second go. Spicy first clip, then beautiful face and arete climbing, then onto some thin slab. Probably soft at the grade, but spectacular all the same.

I swore off this climb some time ago, because it's rubbish. But today we were right there with time to spare, so we spent a little time working out the start and now it's ticked. I still don't have anything good to say about it.

Had my first fall on trad gear, which I'm actually really pleased to have out of the way now. Got back on and finished the job.

Nearly forgot this one. Best grade 1 in all of Perth. Could be harder if you're claustrophobic.

A pleasant enough cruise.

A bit muddy and wet today. Decent.

Dogged the on sight, got it clean second time around with some desperate moments. Technical and puzzling, best route here.

Good warm up, probably soft for the grade.

Not bad. Good pro. The topout would have been spicy before the hanger was installed above the ledge.

Sequency through the crux, making the most of some unimpressive footholds is vital. Good, satisfying route.

Was happy to have Marc's beta to get through the crux. Quite fun, particularly if you like to mantle.

OK warm up.

Long runout to the 2nd bolt, better after that. Maybe there are trad placements, but I didn't have any gear so I wasn't looking. Not recommended.

First half is good, then you just wander to the top it seems. Very run out past the 3rd bolt, which is rusty and needs replacing.

Insecure moves on suspect pro down low. Easy moves on top notch pro higher up.

Decent climb, now it has a 2nd bolt.

Mega classic

Was going to do it properly, but we decided to bail so I just toproped it. Not particularly memorable.

Tried this one a few times before, now I don't have to do it again. It's ok, but it is not a 2 star climb.

My only success of the day. Excellent route.

Finally ticked this proper Perth classic.

Tried the lead, got to the sentry box and chickened out of the finish with one small nut behind a flake preventing a possible ground fall. Did it on top rope afterwards. Probably should have done it the other way around.

Following Bec on her quest to tick 1 trad climb a week.

A bit of fun. Mainly did it for the name.

Awkward move to get off the ground. As soon as you see it, you'll want to get on it.

Good warm up slab.

Finally got there. I'm calling it a classic because no one can stop me, and it's such a satisfying climb with an intricate sequence through the crux. Hard for the grade.

A little respite from trusting my own gear placements.

Not 100% sure what we did. I think we started from the Shitsky belay but climbed on Carousel. Can't claim an onsight, so red point will have to do.

A gentle start to calm the nerves.

Once you get past the plastic holds, it's quite consistent and nice climbing for the grade with a fun layback to get to the anchors.

An interesting puzzle to the 3rd clip, then the top half is a formality.

Sent. Fun, well protected climb with some big moves and a tricky finish that feels scary, but is pretty safe really.

Got the good beta for the last couple of moves and managed to pull it off on a perfect, warm morning. It's short, but it's a great climb, unlike anything else in Perth I can think of. Get on it, people!
