I really enjoyed this line.

Pretty stiff for a 5.8. The crux pulling the undercling roof is classic but hard for the grade.

Very run out slab climb. A 70 meter rope will get you down (barely) if you rap in the chimney to the right.

First time leading this one. Difficult section toward the top. Stay left.

This is my second roped solo on this route. What a great route this is. This route at 5.8 is a total sandbag. Way more interesting and difficult than lucky Pierre which is listed as a three star 5.9 in the guide books.

Really a great lead which eats gear. Take small cams and and nuts and save a .75 or 1 for the top. Great dihedral movement at the bottom and be ready for some tasyy slab moved at the top,

Very engaging lead for the grade. Small gear up to a #1 cam to protect the move to the anchors,

Another romp on this terrific route.

Route is shrubby and from the ground looks kind of uninteresting, but turns out it is really fun and interesting. I dont know if the ski term "off piste" can be applied to climbs but that term sort of fits this route.

Great route. Disappearing feet on the bulge which leads to the anchors just above a nice ledge.

Still an interesting climb with great lie-back movement. Always challenging.

Very nice climb. Interesting finger crack moves to an exciting finishs seems harder than 5.8.

What an awesome climb. The crack sections are perfect and interesting. Each pitch stands out in a different way. We did it in 6 pitches with one short pitch just to move the anchor for the fourth pitch. Each pitch was awesome each in a different way. The route is still a top tier sustained 5.8 even after the 2020 earth quake which took off the old summit block along with the rap station. You can still rap off using an obvious block slung with tat.

I lead this clean today. I have climbed this line several times before as a top roped solo so even though i have never attempted to lead this before i cannot with good conscious call this climb today an "onsight".

Lives up to it's reputation of a classic trad outing. Fantastic rock. The giant flake doesn't seem real.

Another fun run on Lightening Crack! The crux is the last couple of moves to the anchor.
