Ascents in Blue Mountains as various tick types by lucky chance

Climbed it at night time... NOT having done it before so it was an interesting choice. Weaved & wandered & route deciding was the crux :p brilliant night out, vertical adventure. Cheers

hard crux! for a 20... but awesome ;D

quite the ascent in cyclonic winds. turns out wind makes climbing scary! rope management was the crux. to be fair I didnt do the WHOLE climb, my rope only reached down to the 2nd pitch so i had to start there. still a gem and a fun day out, if not engaging...

maybe a solo, but more like a half draw clipping solo, coz I'd clip the draw then climb above it & unclip it then climb to the next one to do it again & again till I was at the top. didnt mean on soloing it, just wasnt worth not...

2nd 1st, led 2nd, 2nd last... first pitch was for sure the crux. 2nd pitch was about 21 and last pitch was grade 8 at best. but all round, awesome climb!

really techy, I'd say you might need to be a 24 climber to find it grade 20, but super enjoyable

last climb of the day, was quite worn out by this stage & it looked heaps easy, it wasnt. fell off and did it next go

so I went left at the top where I should've gone right.. following the chalk. pulled the lip, no anchors just yet, continued climbing up & right and saw the bolts go up the slab so followed them along all the way to the top.. turns out I linked this climb into 'shock'. a pearl...

3rd shot. nice crux sequence, climbs well, kinda squeezed in there though, but still worth climbing for sure

heaps harder than it was 16 years ago, well, for me...

considering its been 15 years since I've last done it I'm considering this a flash

didnt do the nails hard direct boulder, instead did the achievable right hand boulder to start..

A mega outing and uncanny to be climbing along this easy weaving weakness in the middle of a massive blank wall, didnt read the book just looked at the picture, so followed the little dotted line up the left side of bentrovarto wall and into no-protection territory. A totally awesome outing that avoided going in or even stepping over the chimney on the left, climbed the chossy jugs up the side instead.. not super safe but well way worth it anyways!..

this is my best guess at which one I did..

at the 3rd bolt on the onsight I had 2 armfuls of slack out for the clip in a difficult position with a small footer.. the footer snapped, off I came, down I went, along long way, inbetween the tree & the rocks to stop with my ass a foot off the ground giggling from the narrowest of margins with which I escaped unscathed!! perfect.. went up again, came off the crux, went up again & did it

Mega! took a massive fall on the initial section, due mainly to the inherent rope stretch when your climbing at the end of a full 60m of rope.. came back down to the start and smashed it! for sure the 24 pitch is the crux, either that or I just fluked guessing where the holds were on the 2nd pitch. full pump, did it in 1

wells, to start with I'd completely mis-informed myself about this route Epic to access the anchor (for a ropesolo), did some extreme abseiling techniques buts got there and it was Awesome.. did it in 1 pitch as is common with me, recommended.

A good excursion down memory lane had I the ability to remember.. I recall the idea of having done it a million times before, but cant actually remember any occasion, so flash it is!

in the sweltering conditions I climbed it easier than war-babies, jules made it halfway putting the draws on

Baking hot in the sun, the holds felt like soap! so took me 2 goes... but ace

perplexing bolting! or I was off-route. probably was... found it too hard to stay on the left side of the arete following the bolts, so climbed the main arete section partly with the corner crack. still grade 21, and pleasant. not the straight forward sport-climbs of wave wall down here...

climbed it as a second pitch to 'shades of grey', great combination, completely opposite styles, felt easy peasy comparatively

considering it climbs through the crux of 'infant terror'' but is yet longer, I'd say it was fairly solid at grade 20.. but a classic never the less. arent they all?

So I've rapped in down the route to do a ropesolo but forgot my mini-traction.. Dam! Luckily I've got my hand-ascender on me so I havent done this before but I know the theory; clip into my loop through the top holes & away I go... I ended up doing it 3 times back to back just for fun

one of the only climbs that I've had to do a full pirouette en route out of necessity, the tricky bit was unravelling the rope once i had done it. And also one of the more ridiculous ropesolo's I've ever done, having to downclimb under the roof & deviate the toprope using a hex. worked well though

On the mini traction its preferable to not come off the initial dyno, but once i got that it was smooth sailing to the top. I'd love to stop calling every climb a mega-classic but they just keep on being super-awesome!!

it was perfect weather, at a perfect time of day, and I was out here on this and it was awesome! I had SO much fun on this climb I was yelping for joy throughout

just asks to be ropesoloed.. climbs on the left of all the bolts.

maybe some holds have broken off, because it was nails hard and pretty shit. I still got the flash but its more like 23/24 and worthless either way.. better off doing its neighbour

yeh its good...easy as to set up a ropesolo but its the only climb you can really do in this fashion at zap without obscene amounts of jiggery pokery

one of the best climbs I've ever done. if you like mantles and non-existant holds that you'll never believe you can hold let alone do the crux moves on then you'll love this one! perfect rock, moves, position, place, approach.. Everythings good.

a pearl.. all the climbs on this wall are awesome

some of the coolest moves on a traverse I've ever done, full span crosses, techy up moves, rubiks cube to solve a way through it, not the most ideal ropesolo due to its orbiting nature, I had to unclip as many draws as woulda been clipped had I been leading.

if at all possible, do NOT walk off.. unless you hav long pants & 4 hours to kill. so take 2 ropes basically. otherwise an enjoyable if somewhat epic outing. took 14 draws, 12 bolt plates & a set of wires. comfortable...

was able to ropesolo the whole route in 1 pitch on a 60m rope classicly using a mini-traction as I do. rebelay off the anchor bolts so works best if u take a spare 5m length of rope to get down to it. worth it though coz its another perfect route to ropesolo!
