The Palisades is the highest continuous ridgeline in the Sierra Nevada. The views during the approach and at the base are spectacular, let alone the views from the summit

Excellent first aid route, plenty of challenging leads and easy route finding

At 5.8, this climb is underrated, a common occurence in Jim Bridwell aka the Bird, climbs.

Classic ridge route with tons of exposure, yet well protected

The name does the climb justice, especially about 40 feet from the finish

Very wet, very loose, styrofoam ice. Bring a few cams for pro, the rappel is easily retrievable.

Loose, wet unstable ice surrounded by similar rock, bring mid-range cams for pro, rap off is easily retrievable.

Fun route up as well as easy walk off after completing other Whitney climbs

Excellent High Sierra route, great for beginners learning to cope with the altitude as well as the climb

definitely the perfect crack climb, well protected with 2 back to back overhangs at the end

Excellent climb, at times it is almost the equivalent of a squeeze chimney

Take a talus field and stand it on end, that is how I would describe this climb. Sketchy pro and loose rock somehow equates to a sense of accomplishment once you are finished.

A 3 move climb for the most part, once you are through the overhang, it's smooth sailing.

Fun climb, watch the landing if you bail

Watch out for the rope size crack, it will eat your rope and not spit it out.

The Dutchess climbs were 3 of my first leads, done while in the Marine Corps, in combat boots. Repeated later in shoes, with little difficulty
