Tramped out on a misting day and snuck by the rangers to go up this. The drizzle laid off as we climbed so we didn't get washed off, though the cascade was running pretty hard and made things a tad slippery at the one exposed spot. Found Mtn. Cranberries on the slabs as we first headed out of the dike.
My son got yelled at by the eco-police as he walked on high mtn grasses on the knob about a half mile below the summit. Interesting that they're so rabidly protecting alpine flora that have gained a foothold there (well below treeline) thanks to surveyors' clearcutting!
We snuck around them a ways farther, then bushwhacked down to the western slide near the base of the mountain on our way back (I don't recommend this bit), hitting the trail near its base.

The traverse of pitch 3 is a bit scary as it has dit for pro. Also, I've noticed the crack is getting looser with time (ca.2006), at least in the vicinity where LFdirect shares its turf.
