NE Buttress Sector

A fantastic Tibro route but it is a little bit adventurous. We loved it. I understand why the grading is a bit controversial. Subjectively I would say it is a bit easier than the (pure) climbing grades but the length of the route, the loose rock and the runouts make it feel a bit harder. The route is very well bolted on the harder pitches (15+) but expect to run it out a fair few meters on the easier slab pitches. Three things that are noteworthy: There are a lot of loose rocks especially when you abseil down. While abseiling a football size rock broke off literally under my partners foot and fell down. I would not really recommend this climb if another party is right above or raping down. The abseil re-direct sling at the second anchor is not longer there (or we have completely missed it). We traversed back right to the last bold and left a biner. It's a bit dodgy. A single 70m rope is just ok on stretch (tie knots!) for the first 40m abseil but NOT enough to abseil the second 40m. Take a second rope. What a great day!

Accidentally ended up on this climb from Remains of the Day. 2nd pitch is nice but rock quality is pretty poor. Crux in 3rd pitch is pretty hard for a 21 and rock crumbles under your feet. Good adventure though.

Three things that are noteworthy:
