Ascents in Wye Creek by Adam Sanders

Really nice technical climbing on insecure holds. Haven't been able to do the crux moves in the middle of the route as they are quite reachy for me. Keen to work it though!

A great route. Climbs really well. Fired it first shot of the day. Second overall.

Definitely not two stars, barely a star.

Average wall, average climbs.

Spicy run outs on good holds.

Heinous start. Then grade 10 to the top. Don't know if I'll be back..

Ugh. Can tell I've been face climbing a lot lately.. Hung the draws and bailed.

Thought this climbed really well. Cruised it.

Took some brainstorming to figure the beta out. Almost got it 2nd shot but slipped off the techy crux boulder. Should go any shot.

Second shot. Slipped off the onsight slapping for a flat edge.

Oof very powerful start through the roof. The rest of the route went easy. Need a couple more attempts I'd say.

Got it! 3rd shot overall. Nice little line.

Needs another bolt, whipping on to the tree stump at mid height would not be pleasant. Zero stars.

This is a good warm up for the crag.

Couldn't do first move. Pulled up and sent clean from there.

Ripped a flapper on the onsight. Will go easy in next one or two burns. Nice holds!

Have got it down to 3 sits..

Retrieved my draws on lead. Actually did really well. Linked through crux much easier. See you in the NY.

Another good line on this wall. Cleaned up really nice. Sat on the onsight, sussed the moves. Got it clean 2nd shot.

Great little climb, short and punch. Needs another lap of two.

Shit route. Only one bolt constitutes the anchor.

The route should go up left to the anchors of black widow where the good holds/moves are (would be about 22 I'd say). The original line up right to anchors is forced and makes you climb the route to the right to finish. It's still not that great.

Need another lap to dial the moves. Too humid today, couldn't stick the sequences.

Dirty + humid = not enjoyable. An okay route. Fell off first moves, sent next shot.

A nemesis. First climbed this maybe 3 years ago and never went back because it annoyed me that I couldn't get it clean. Went back and finished the job today. Fluffed the same move again today, gave the holds a good brush (so chalky/rubbery), and got it next shot.

Warmed up, sent first shot of the day. 9th overall. First at the grade. Way more of a mental milestone than a physical one. Absolutely stoked.

Linked from the ground through crux.. on top rope. Only lead attempts from this day forth.

More refinement required.

Definitely three star movement. Some crumbly feet unfortunately. 2 laps working it. Will be a few more to get it dialled. Hopefully get some good links tomorrow.

Another tricky 16. It makes you think. Bomber nuts all the way.

A really good climb. Some questionable rock but great gear the whole way. Would be a grade harder if you couldn't jam/crack climb.

Needs a clean/more traffic & would be really nice. Enjoyed the onsight, engaging face climbing. Watch the lower off - sharp edges!

Bit of a dab climb because of the proximity of the opposing face that you can use to bridge out & avoid any difficulties.

Went up to suss the third pitch. Didn't end up trying it today.k

So close to the flash! Fatigue claimed me right at the last draw. Got it 2nd go with a few grunts & groans. Took a third lap for good measure. Definitely one of the best lines that I've climbed at Wye Creek & I've climbed 100 (as of today).

Needs a clean but deserves more attention. Fell on the onsight clipping from a dirty crimp. Sent 2nd shot.

Powerful, needs a fair few sessions I'd say.
