Ascents of Praise the Llewd

Laybacking glory on slightly slippery feet, then some nice confusing face climbing on bubble rock. Hard to find the holds, but not really that bad once you find them.

Second to clean. Stellar line will be back for the tick

Last route of the day, almost fell off

Absolutely fantastic! Requires a full arsenal: laybacking, feet/hand jamming, stemming and slab/face climbing. Some great technical moves and great exposure. Considering the length and moves (especially the last couple of moves), it should be grade 23.

Awesome line! not over till it's over

Very memorable. The crack climbed much more easily than I had first suspected. The real excitement was when you first peek around the arete. Didnt feel like there was comfortable position to be had for the next 10m at least, with lots of weird holds and suspect footers. With the onsight feeling like it was in the bag, I got suckered into climbing up and left after the last draw, figuring I could traverse back right to the anchor. It was quite exciting when a hold that was supporting all of my body weight decided to leap off the wall, and suddenly I was down below the roof! Proper big whip! Lowered with my tail between my legs not wanting another go today. I might do it again one day if someone else hangs the draws and chalks up the holds for me. Can't log a dog if you don't make it to the anchors!

Just the first half. The face was wet so lowered off from the last bolt. Excellent layback!

Tried this years ago, nice to retro flash it today. Lots of different moves, I got a little scared at the arete and plenty gripped up higher. Just move your feet.

A climb of many parts. A funky layback start, some gripping arete climbing, and a techo (and surprisingly hard-to-read) face finale. I didn't bring enough draws so had the "pleasure" of skipping 2 bolts in the upper section. Only marred by the retro'd crack start, and the rather dubious rock on the face.

The 3 bolts around the arete mean the rope is over the arete. Long slings or else skip bolts

Didnt go all the way up, didnt figure that it went around the corner onto the face

Good fun. Lots of up and downclimbing happened in the upper half.

Such epic route and style of climbing, loved it!

This route had it all. Terrific crack, difficult transition and desperate crimping up the face. Takes time to work out the puzzle.

Not sure if this finishes on arête. Guidebook suggests continuation is a link up at 24. But not 22 to there....

Climb should have ended after the lay backing; the rest is weird face climbing on crumbly and chossy rock (broke what felt like a solid right hand crimp right off). Other holds must have broken off, it's not 22. Second it to clean it.

Awesome! First time laybacking for me. Once past the crack (half way) its a maze through some very small crossely kinda stuff. Stiff move to finish
