Ascents of Satyricon

What a climb! great pro and fun moves with a fair amount of stemming involved. The calf pump was killer, the "cave" section provided a real challenge when I thought I would fall off and leave my arm behind, the words 'I'm really scared' came out a few times but my patient and supportive belayer Gabriella offered some great encouragement. I think I milked every rest possible and through the crux kept telling myself 'you don't want to face the cave again'. In saying that, I would certainly climb this again.

Well, its classic.. And im very proud of my ankle recovery.. Satyricon is a milestone. The climb is a test piece for ankle stability. A whole year on and no pain and not even a thought. I will no longer think about it.

Pretty stoked with this after crying over climbing above bolt at ninderry the day before. After mantling out top above the runout, i had 2 hours of feeling like the man until the dave mank finger crack slapped me back to quivering with gear at waist height. Great day at the buttress of fun

Still a tough crux had a sit after being sore from black light

The crux protection eases your mind before entering into commitment. That’s why it should deserve three stars.

Took a long while to do this. Managed to place gear the whole way through the crux, much to my seconders dismay.

this took me a good 40minutes of climbing. man was this hard. I managed a no hands no feet rest just before the cavelet by jamming my shoulders into the open book. pretty fun looking down and realising the only thing keeping you on the climb is the pressure that your shoulders are exerting on the walls around you. Id recommend shoulder pads (patent pending), or a good shirt instead of a tank top for better friction. The rest was much needed to give my burning calves and pumped forearms a break right before the crux. 60m rappel just made it to the little tree 5m off the bottom

Fun, fun, fun!

Found my shoulders were the perfect width to wedge into that little flared section at the top so felt super secure. I'd say this climb gets Spice town status.

Hidden gem, onsight as the sun was rising behind me

20 20's - 3/20

Like others, I found this one to be more sustained than expected, and perhaps a touch hard for a Frog 20. Could have managed the gear and pump better, but throwing the heel hook at the top and mantling out felt amazing.

Absolutely exceptional climbing and I think it deserves more attention. The top crux is pretty tough and had to run it out a bit only because I didn't have a third arm to place gear with! Stoked to bag the onsight!

Scramble up a little ledge to a small clearing to belay.

Absolutely amazing corner climb, with brilliant bridging and stemming stances. Easy enough to the little cave, then pile up on gear because the final layback section is spicy and difficult to protect (thankfully, it is not long). This was made even spicier because it started to downpour on us whilst I was getting into the layback. My foot slipped on the now-slick wall and I had my only fall on this route. Frustrating, but it is what it is.
