Ascents in Granite Highlands

My first trad lead. Fun route

felt much easier, more like 17 or 18 than 21, we all agreed

felt slightly easier

very gnarly start. then after the stance we all climbed it quite differently, that variability by itself earned it some points for me

most definitely not a 24. attempted by 3 different climbers that can climb a few grades harder than 24 and the consensus was that it felt more like a 27. maybe was a 24 but some key holds came off? dunno

very fun climb. first and favorite of the day. got a nut super stuck, took a village to take it out xD

So uh, that was an experience. I took a (personal best/worst) 10 metre fall.. Sliding down granite slab thankfully resulted in no serious injury to myself - I landed in the branches at the bottom. Run out and not clean at all. Most of the climbing experience involved cleaning off lichen and moss in order to allow for foot placements. While the bolts seemed to be placed in solid rock, a lot of the rock surrounding sounded hauntingly hollow. Nonetheless it was worth the trip out to Teneriffe, perhaps I'll come back for some better protected trad climbing another time. Some cool boulders nearby alongside some more interesting trad lines.

Unclear what other holds could have been under the moss. Still, felt pretty hard! Bailed to the right after the second bolt.

Just before transitioning to the slab, lean around left to place your only pro in the large crack before Runaway. Decking territory for sure, just top rope it.

Far from safe due to the ridiculous first bolt. Should have been placed 2-3m left and 1m higher. Better off top roping this.
