Summary

A quaint bushwalk which results in a grand view of the Hawkesbury River and a crag offering some unique problems. Well worth the bush walk in!

Description

A small crag with a great view. The rock here is well weathered and sports no choss. Some of the problems here are quite 'challenging' but that's the name of the game. Be careful of unhappy ants!

Access issues

At the end of the Challenger Track scramble your way down to the base of the crag. Access along the base is slightly overgrown but your crash pad will sort that out soon enough. Be cautious of the vicious fire ants!

Approach

To get to the crag you'll need to go through the national parks toll booth which is about $6.00. When you're on West Head Road continue driving for about 25 minutes (avoiding all the cyclists) keeping your eyes peeled on the left hand side for the Challenger Track.

Park away from the gate, grab your gear and hike to the end of the track. Enjoy the view then scramble down to the base of the crag.
