First Ascent: Richard Curtis & Jim Grellis (alt), 1976
The climb is called 'Guided Missile' because of an incident on the second pitch. Jim was leading and there had been no movement for a little while. I was belayed behind a large 'bollard' and peered around it to check his progress. As I looked up, I saw a football-sized rock heading in my direction and just pulled my head back in time. It probably would have missed me but it felt like a close thing.
