Description

There are three bolted routes on downhill face of The Boulder, two being carrots and one being rings. The rings are in excellent condition with great lower offs while the carrots are questionable with no evident lower offs. There's one fixed hanger located mid face, sitting well off the rock and rusted at an unsafe angle.

Approach

The most direct path to The Boulder is from The Dead Horse Project (Bundy) on Manchester United Wall.Head down the hill from TDHP for about 60m where you'll see The Boulder looming up in front of you. Skirt around it's base to your right where you'll find the climbs on the down hill side.

Grade Route

Left hand arete of boulder. A tricky start turning into a fun climb on iron stone flakes.

Caution! A hand size block just above the second RB is very loose but not ready to pop out just yet. It sits directly above the best belay position so belayers please move to one side.

Old chain anchors still in place but flipped up and over the top.

FA: Ken McKeon, 2007

Warning! The protruding hanger is sitting well off the rock and rusted in a very unsafe angle. Not safe to use! Could be an excellent climb if bolted with rings.
