Indeed there is good climbing in Central Australia, and that it is not just a vast flat desert as commonly imagined.

The whole MacDonnell Range has some fantastic crags, often in beautiful and unique locations, and while little of the climbing is world class, it's a fun place to climb, with constant sunshine. If you are climbing in the summer (it's often over 40 degrees Celsius!), then there is often a crag in the shade, with a cooling waterhole on the way home.
