underrated route in my opinion, with some fun, technical moves on crimps. I'd advise caution when clipping the 2nd draw (possible to deck out) and to be careful when crimping the flake at the 3rd, as it doesn't feel the most solid. Still a worthwhile route, just as good as Superstring, deserves more attention

Planned to lead climb this trad but chose to climb it top rope first. Started the climb by placing a first bit of protection while on top rope but was aware of the amount of time it would take and the line-up of climbers behind me so just climbed through top rope. Windy conditions but comfortable. First time climbing in a jumper.

Despite (vainly) studying video of myself successfully climbing a week prior I managed to mess up a couple of sequences and pumped out, having to give up eventually to give other people a go. I also just didn't feel as strong but that might have been a case of no training in the week lead-up and lack of sleep during the week too. Shortly after watched Fiona easily walk up the crack with some slick moves I will need to learn.

I'm learning that while my strength is improving and I'm able to stick holds, I really need to be utilising moves properly: drop knees, flagging, etc to be more efficient.

Still love this climb though.

16 Who the Fuck is Alice (Variant)

Best day of weather I have had climbing in Alice Springs so far as a south easterly blew in lows of 10-28 degree days, meaning we could climb until 1pm. I on-sighted this on top rope a couple weeks ago so thought I would try leading it with gear already placed by Luke. Different game this time around but not because of fear, I think I onsighted it last time as my first climb of the day and this time was my last of the day after failing (mixing up sequences and pumping out) a couple times on Hyerba Burger. WTFIA just seemed a lot more vertical (and horizontal) and my hands didn't work the first time so I fell after placing the final bit of gear. Disappointed (and I thought I was actually cooked), I just muscled through the final section with a lot of grunting and yelling.

Really enjoyed the challenge and different head game that lead climbing presents. I'll get this next week if I can manage someone placing gear before me.

Classic climb and as the book says, will be a great warm-up for future climbs at this crag. Really seeing improvement in my ability to work a crack and stick left and right hands and pull my body up.
