Ascents of Brother having Beta

Not that impressed?

Onsight until 4th draw I think, but that's not the hard climbing. Got to the crux and played around with dynoing to the good hold, felt possible and extremely enjoyable.

Had heard about a better beta through the crux but when I got there I only tried it once then went back to dynoing because it was so fun

Tried the crux again and having seen it done now I was able to static through it completely without much power at all. Did the last of the moves to the top, probably easy for 28 if I'm doing all the moves with minimal beta on my 3rd attempt? Cool movement and climb though

Great moves, hopefully next session, moves don't feel hard just endurance. Went to the top all 4 times.

First burn/warmup I grabbed the Vaseline hold and fell going for the clipping jug, could have saved myself a lot of energy by not letting go. Also broke the foot hold I use in the crux which I didn't realise at the time but was why there was no send on the second burn. Worked out a new foothold then slipped out of the crux before really getting into it on the third burn. 4th burn I fell on the very last bit of the crux, pulled back on with no rest and went to the chains pretty annoyed. Last burn everyone had packed up and I managed to get the send just in time to leave. Didn't feel so bad, but that's what they always say. Nice to tick my first 28 though!

Knee pad not required but it was too hot to wear pants and I didn't fancy bleeding everywhere.

Need some beta to get to the last draw before the chains 😅 started up the 31 by mistake, this was a bit better haha.

3 shots and got it to 1 rest, maybe this yr!! ha dto do it the left way.

Used the start a warmup and then later in the day ventured up to the top. Only managed to do the crux sequence once but man is it cool!

Great route, always struggled with the crux but after I stuck it i went straight to the top! Nice to send my nemesis route at the crag.

1 fall, all moves clean only 30 seconds on the rope.

Managed all the moves but will be tricky linking through that elevator door scoop thing...Rad!

High point to the hueco today and managed some good links. 3 attempts

About 5mm higher than last session!

Took advantage of a couple of rare weekends of good weather to finally get this done! Thanks to all who provided lifts, snacks, belays and good vibes...very stoked!!

Just up to the crux, for a play. Crux was a bit shouldery and my left shoulder didn't want me to keep going. Another time

So freakin awesome the whole way & hard to boot!!! One rest at crux, then through to the top. Wish I had more time.

Just a quick exploratory refresh lap. Found a new sequence. Will hopefully get back for another go before we leave.

Did all of the moves, just need to refine 4th to 5th bolt.

Got all the beta dialled, slipped on the slopey jug on the last go, might go next session.

Went second shot today, felt good despite the lack of wind. Some beta refinement before the crux saved a bit of power which definitely helped.

End of session messing around. Feels like a great route, wouldn’t mind spending a session on it.

Some progress made, can upgrade this to a dog as I had a couple of chances to explore the top after the crux.

A few shots on a day off. managed to pass the crux from a lower sit, progress being made!

Something which is seemingly impossible at first , becomes tangible , real and tantalisingly close. Down to one sit

Conditions weren’t the best today , ended up working out some micro beta at the crux.

Conditions were primo on Saturday but could not capitalise.

Re-opening the account after a year.

Glad I could still manage to get up to the crux and then continue on through after a sit. All the moves slowly came back to me after a few attempts. Ready to give this some good burns now !!

EOD - managed to get down to one sit. Found some micro beta at crux and rediscovered my beta for the top crux.

Gave it some beans today , high point to the sloper. Reckon it might go in a couple of sessions. Thanks for the patient belay Lionel!!
