Ascents in Vanderholics Wall having Beta

Crack was a bit sandy in spots and lichen

Nice crack, first proper hand and fist jamming.

Woooo crack! Didn’t have gear and obviously I wanted to do the crack so we set this up as a top rope from the anchors of Gina. Great hand crack at bottom than fists after the ledge

A great little unit. I finished up the right off-width.

1st climb of the day.

Was still a bit wet in places, still enjoyable, but not a patch on Vanderholics

better than I thought it would be, a bit committing above the ledge

Used the crack for layback on the first go, didn't know if it was on so went up the face, seemed pretty hard for an 18 though!

Wierd crux - there is a huge amount of chalk around the crack, so I headed up there, but it was proven to me that it isn't needed

Technical on slopers if you stay out of the crack and on the face

This is the toughest 18 I have climbed. Technical face climbing. Stay out if the crack, for the top end of the grading.

Nice climbing all the way. A bit easier than it looks.

Weird climb, had to stem my feet on the other wall

Went up slightly left of the crack, my hand is too small to jam! Interesting moves on slopers.

Remember to go more to the right at the start than the left or you will end up planking like i did half way up to get across

I used the crack a bit as a right hand hold which probably isn't part of the climb and put my right foot on the side wall at one point which is almost certainly not allowed. Will have to try without next time!

Nice little slabby start, ended up with the traverse right to left and then a small dyno to the obvious right hand jug. Good fun stuff

Tough last move

Pretty sure id done this a few yrs back. Not a bad warm up.
