Much nicer to come back and have a second crack at this climb after being proper scared last time for some reason, I deffinitly climbed to far around the arete last time so know exactly where I went wrong. This time climbed up onto the arete pedestal and wind had picked up so much it blew my earring straight out of my ear!

I must say, I like this more than the direct version! I came here to climb trad after all 🤷‍♂️ It’s definitely much easier and extremely pleasant! Plenty of great holds, moves, good protection and epic position! Another point perp arete ticked with whales frolicking behind me😍

I annoyingly forgot extenders and one of my can placements caused the rope to get stuck around a flake meaning I couldn’t clip the last draw and got super pumped and had to whip 😵‍💫 got it clean on second after. it’s a nice route but not a classy as northern exposure.

Awesome crack line. Awesome view. Plenty of gear and places to shake out. Trad headgame is feeling really good at the moment. Comfortably ran out the bottom to conserve hand-sized gear. Gear beta: eats greens and reds if you're not conservative with placements. Good medium nut placements throughout. Save a red and green for the final hand sequence at the end. Did not touch blues or above.

The rope was already rigged so we ran laps on it. Second time around I stuck to the crack and jam-backed the roof section, it felt much better.

Got about 3 meters up before placing my only 4. Decided to bail after seeing the crack only getting wider from there. Bring plenty of big cams for this one if you’re keen.

We started from the chains so maybe its only half the route? Anyways, easy little lead with a small roof. I took the easy option on lead and steered right to the safety of the other side of the boulder for a bit before committing to the left crack and going to the top.

Wish there was more arete goodness, felt like you spend 2/3 of the route getting to the best bit and then it's over! Should probably be fully bolted but easily climbed with one or two extra bits of gear. Epic.

the top arete is amazing and worth climbing just for that. the bottom section is fine but feels like its only purpose is a way to reach those last few meters of great climbing

from haz - great recollection: what an unreal line, this place is one of my favourite crags in AUS. there is soo much variation in routes, with heaps of cracks and face climbs, but the mega exposure and overhangs, straight to the sea deck is what makes this place sooo spectacular. I mean, seeing whales, dolpins and seals all within 300m of the cliff is a glorious scene in itself. completely agree! insane setting for climbing. sea cliffs how wild, with perfect weather and all. the stoke and energy was naturally high, just by product of being there I think! stunnin climbing too, I wanna lead this next time!

Following Jack end of day; the start was nails for 17 !! (in the dark with a head torch) There’s a nut stuck in one of the cracks, spent some time trying to get it out but that ain’t going anywhere. (How did you even get that in there mate?) Jack had a monstrous run out from that nut (just after the second last bolt) to the last bolt where he decided not to place any of his double rack of cams. Dumbass. 😂 The arete at the top was bloody marvellous, didn’t expect to be pulling those kind of moves on a 17, so damn awesome. Very keen to try the original during the day and compare.

Easily the most scared I've ever been on a climb, bottom pretty tricky but then mostly jugs, got to the Tom section where the bolts get run out and needed to place a blue cam and take due to pump, must have done something weird because the next moves felt way harder than a 17.

Climbed this in the dark 🌝 Nice corner crack! Good hands and widening to fists near the top.

Assuming I managed to get on the right climb... very sandy and chossy, sent quite a few bits of rock flying into the sea. Lucky for my belayer, I couldn't find the belay anchors so I got top roped out of there. Otherwise, the jams and climbing were quite good actually.

first route on this trip, super nice climbing in the first half! Then thrutch chimney in the second! And of course I was facing the wrong way in the thrutch chimney, missed the thread and ran it out to the top without climbing on the outside of the chimney lol. Sick times, Erin killed it in the chimney!
