Ascents in Waitpinga

I think I could run laps on this all day and not get sick of it. Love the headspace that this kind of climbing creates. Forget about the bolts and focus only on the moves. Wicked

Superb, The harder, scarier older sibling to Apline. No onsight as I peeped a look at the holds lowering off of lost socks. Pretty cool looking up into the seemingly blank section and making it happen. All on the feet, sooooo good.

Didn’t feel much easier than clearing your mind hahah

Surprisingly fun

Thin, technical, smeary, slab climbing!

Wasn’t feeling great moving past the first anchor. Climbed okay until the two bolts close together but didn’t have the head for the next bolt. Hang dogged it and stick clipped it. Could have used some trad gear here for sure. Felt better going far left to make these moves. Moves at the top seemed to back off but maybe the hanging helped. Still tricky with some hand foot matching.

Linkup. Done both of the original routes. Good line to get the head back into Waits slab.

Good climbing. Ramps up and gets thinner towards the top. Felt engaging.

I climbed up to these chains a few different ways and I think this is the best.

A worthy alternative would be climbing the start of this route, then joining Smooth and Easy at the seam.

Very nice climb, despite the vegetation (says the seconder, after it had been cleaned...).

We reached the ground fine on a 60m rope, but obviously YRMV...

Very nice, surprisingly varied and surprisingly consistent grade all the way to chains.

Took another 'mental crutch' dab (tapped a bolt with my foot). Oh well, I'll be back. Had TRd previously.

Very nice sustained 6m crux section up crack just before the chains, 30m off the deck.

It's true BTW, you won't reach the ground on a 60m rope...

Fun slab climbing with a techy but cool crux

Oh so good, just want you want out of a long slab pitch. Techy, sustained, thought provoking and plenty of droppable moves.

This is a lot of fun — great intro to the crag. You start on the 13 and have two different options in the end depending on how you're feeling I ended up on the 17 apparently!

Incredible, amazing! True slab moves getting up on your feet with little to nothing on hands! I was happy to have a black totem cam close to the end, but not really necessary.
