Ascents in Adelaide having Beta

A lot of fun, I don't think anyone should ever stop at the anchors of Grurper DS, just take 4 more draws and enjoy the Anzac headwall I "onsighted" the mini traverse between them, but there were draws on Grurper and I've done both original routes, so logging a cheeky RP here...

Small improvement. One fall in each try, but footwork is getting much better, I can see the light!

Chossy and easy to get lost

Did it twice, pretty comfortably, though kinda felt like I cheated... First time because I was at full stretch, impossible move for anyone less than 6 foot tall. Second time I tried to find alternative feet and feel like I prob foot dabbed. Will have to try it again sometime...

I top roped this today, but recording it as Trad because I didn't note down when I lead it last time.

Pleasant interesting tricky climb. 13 seems really sand bagged. I guessed 15-16, even after having done it 4 times in a few months. Not that I climb many routes in that range, but still.

Ticky crux above second bolt

I did get to the chains, but I spent so much time on the rope that I think even hang dog is generous. Got an okay sequence though, might go on a good day (or after a bit more stamina development).

gotta keep the ethical high standards — I saw someone on it from some distance earlier in the day and draws were up, so a hard earned flash. So short, and yet felt hard at the top. Maybe this is this crag's peregrine, the perfect warm up Will be good to stop climbing around the horn...

This is a lot of fun, and I got much higher on my first go than I expected. That crux will take some time to learn properly though... Felt more complicated than most of my summit projects, but less endurance needed.

Completely unexpected send! The plan was to work on Greed but 1. it was in the sun, 2. after coming g off Envy at the top I had to give it one more go. So good! Oh, and it’s my second second ascent.

Yeaaooooooooooo! Finally got the send. Feels awesome to get this route as its soo fun.

Just focused on control, breathing steady and efficient use of the many rests. Felt fresh at the final roof. The headwall felt so nice using the pinch to properly stand up and gain the feet.

Does feel like it took a few too many sessions falling off at the headwall, however I did do them quite spaced out and had covid for at least one of them.

Very messy first burn today. Forgot my beta after the first good knee bar and at the final roof. Was sloppy. Did manage to find a really nice pinch at the top to help gain the headwall.

Also potentially spotted the culprit rock/blade for cutting ropes. In the final roof, there is a bolt above and below. The lower bolt has a long downward facing blade like feature slightly up and right (I use it as a footer in a stem at some point). On this blade is a hand size section really close to the bolt where the rope can run underneath. If a climber were to fall (at any point with the next draw clipped) while the rope was running underneath, the tension put on the rope can cause it aggressively rub over this bladed edge. I am certain that this explains what happened to the rope on my previous outing. Could potentially extend the last two draws before the headwall if worried about this or be very mindful and ensure the rope doesnt get caught underneath while climbing past it.

Awesome movement, makes a strong case for my favourite 16, probably has a much harder crux if short

Easily in the top 10 worst routes I've ever done and might even podium. Don't bother. In no world does this legitimately get a star

It climbs better than it looks. Needs to be further cleaned by the first ascentionist in my opinion. The actual flow of the climb doesn’t match the topo. Just follow the bolts it climbs alright

Dialled in the crux on top rope, then went for a lead attempt. Got the crux down now, just need to be efficient on the roof moves

Awesome route with some tricky moves. Beta locked in now, hoping to get the red point next time.

Did route for first 3 bolts, but then went right at the third bolt, still finishing at the same chain. Not sure what this line is, thought it was Gonads RHV but that seems to be trad. Personally think this is an easier variant of EotG.

TR. Pretty much cruised it today. I love the way I do the bottom it feels so cool with the high R foot and big reach o with the R hand. Also love the crux with the dependency and the poor L foot and small flat top hind for the R hand to grab the high, left hand sloppier gaston with crimp on it 😀

Fun moves! Final move was further than I first thought.

Great to finally send this! It went really smoothly. Classic route.
