Ascents in The Bluff

Just on the rings, rapped in and i assume this means we linked Les Tois into Baudin - fun climb with a definite crux off the small ledge

Quick rope solo to suss out potential routes for later. Only found one carrot anchor, at the end of a ring bolted

Insanely cool, short two moves, had to be done for how cool the position/rock is

Greatest little 14 ever, was pretty wet so couldnt get on anything else unfortunately

Super fun climb, plenty of sharp holds!

Seconded Sarah who made it look way easier than it felt. Seeping holds didn’t help

Stoked!!! Especially for my first trad route after a few months off the injury. Glorious jamming the whole way up with a slopey top out for a bitta spice at the end

Repeat, classic little number, needs some love

So so good! Thought I was on the original but no complaints as the finish was great. Defs an Adelaide classic

Slipped off at the crux. Nice delicate slab climbing

Tried to follow the line of bolts but moved slightly right of the 4th bolt. Nice friction slab

Nice warm up lead. Plenty of good pro including a nice thread about gateway up, but look out for the loose pocket at the top.

Another great good route at the bluff. Glad I wasn’t leading it!

Awesome climbing on sustained great hand jams. Can’t work out the final moves out of the crack to top out

Surprisingly bold move to the window then it’s over before you know it! Couldn’t climb here without ticking this route. Slung a cordelette around the base of dome’s pillar for the first piece of pro before threading a sling through the window and up.

Top-roped first and pre-clipped the first bolt for the delicate crux start but will load up the crack with pro for my next attempt for the red point. Fun technical slab

Gritty

Not a sport route, take small pro for the last 6+ metres. A couple more bolts and this would be a great climb.

Patchy pro, hollow flakes

I'd remove 'pleasure' from the name.

Very appropriate name ! Unsure how much longer the holds/ rock features will last on this climb - lucky it seems to receive little traffic.

Realised I’ve been off-route in the past when I’ve ‘led’ this, followed the crack for protection until I reach a dropped static with alpine butterflies to protect the upper slab, so top roped the arete (pro looks scarce so I’m unlikely to lead it). Really nice climbing

Be very suspicious of the rock quality at The Bluff - station your belayer off to one side if you can

harder than 14? compared to a v similar climb 'Naturalists in a High Tech World' at Car Crash gr. 16, this feels harder. Definitely lost more skin on this one! bring the leather sleeves and some paw-paw for afterwards...

A real treat - used cams and tricams If you don’t want to expose your 2nd to your pro then set up a belay up top, pull the rope thru, drop it back down to them so they can tie in (just might have to flick the rope if it gets caught up on the knobbly bits mid climb)
