It was just so lovely to climb this clean today. Usually I'm pretty scared or super nervous on a climb that is hard for me but today on this I really wasn't. The whole thing just felt really enjoyable, which was so nice!! I really can't rave about this climb enough. The moves, the rock, the bolting, the steepness, the falls and the position are all just excellent!!

So psyched to get back on this awesome climb after trying it last week! On this first warm up shot I managed to figure out a sequence for the last few moves and so I clipped the last bolt and anchor for the first time. I was so stoked because I could now do all the moves!

I've been looking dreamily up at this climb since first going to the fish bowl a few weeks ago. It is just such a beautiful looking climb! So long and steep and pockety! I had a really fun time today jumping on it for the first time and having a bit of a play. Most of my time on it I was working out the bouldery bottom third. The rest of the climb looks amazing but I was a bit tired after figuring out the start to do any of those steep moves. I'm really super excited to start projecting this!

My first day on this lovely climb. Had a couple of goes working out some of the moves. It's a sensational line that's steep, juggy and pumpy. It starts off a lovely little ledge too which means its positioning is extra great as well. All the moves I did were really really great. With so many knee bars it feels quite gymnastic and a lot like a Coolum route. I'm excited to start projecting this climb, it's just so much fun!

So excited to check out a new Frederick's Peak area. This fishbowl area is absolutely awesome! It's an amazing steep cave full of beautiful pockets and scoops. It will take me a while to be able to climb anything here as this route is the easiest thing! I had a play on the start but didn't really get any of the moves or very far up the climb. It looks like a fantastic route!

I had a little play on the start of this last week and it felt way too hard. I couldn't do any of the moves at all. Decided to give it another go and today it was much better. It is such an amazing climb! It feels like an adults jungle gym. Just fun fun fun. It's pumpy all the way and has just one small section that I can't figure out yet. Once I can do those few moves it'll just come down to endurance.

More time working the same little section over and over and over and over. I was super stoked this shot to finally found a way to do this little bulgy section which is about 4 bolts up. A very very very very very very fun climb! Nice slab and face moves to start which lead in to a really steep and juggy finish. The rock quality is great, scoopy and featured but really soft on the hands. To add to the awesomeness it was bucketing rain most of the time we were in The Alcove and this climb was perfectly dry. From the ground I thought that the overhanging top might be a bit tricky for me but it was no trouble. However I really struggled with a low shouldery move which was my crux.

Wow! Just amazing! Such quality moves throughout the whole 25m climb. I rate most things as very good but this definitely gets a classic from me. It's the most sustained 24 I've encountered at Fred's and it's this that makes it so great. It has a definite crux that starts about 8 meters off the ground but after this the top is still pretty tricky, especially if you're pumped like I was! I'd top roped this climb months ago to clean it and I really didn't enjoy it at all. Usually I like every climb I do so I thought last week that I should give it a second chance. This time I absolutely loved every last bit of it. It is a lot easier and much more enjoyable on lead than top rope due to it being so steep. 22 *** Romancing the Stone

Pretty excellent climbing with a crux that'll make you think and then remain fairly sustained till the next belay. A size 2 BD C4 Cam comes in handy for that pitch too where it's a bit run out.
