Came back and redid it after 5 years and got it. Still definitely harder than 5.7. Solid crack climbing, jam or layback until you get to the slabby crux at the end. Plug in a .1 or .2 and a couple of desperate slab moves will get you to the anchors. Exciting!

Mostly fun layback until the slabby crux at the end which makes it harder than 5.7; I fell here and ripped out a nut. Definitely heady finish.

5.7 Serpent referendaire Trad 25m Very Good

The meat of the climbing is all lay-back, so it climbs at about 5.7. But protecting is noticeable harder -- and the gear can be a bit tricky, so protecting it makes it noticeably harder than the 5.7 TR/follow grade.

While most of the route is 5.7, the first and the last moves are way harder, and not that well protected. Delicate positioning!
