Petrifying Wall Topos

3rd tier wall accessed from the middle of the carpark

Predominantly trad area housing a few gems. There are two top one hundred climbs here.

Lowest small wall in the Brunser / Milkman Area

Small crag near the parking lot.

Moderate mostly gear climbs in a small canyon.

Follow the signs towards Quercus. Before you get there commonwealth is a fissured slabby wall to the right of the track and Lakeside in the woods is to the left of the track.

Good bolted cliff for beginner leaders.

Somewhere it was written, that climbing the rock of Petrifying Wall feels like climbing on elephant skin. Very technical sport climbing on awesome granite.

The climbs on this crag are dedicated in memory of Marc Andre Leclerc (1992 – 2018), World class British Columbian alpinist, who inspired many people with his boldness, talent, humor, and humility in his too short life. Marc’s stoke for climbing was both perpetual and legendary and he extended this enthusiasm and interest to both his mind blowing feats and all other’s climbing goals and projects. After his death, Chris Small reflected on how Marc would like us to remember him. Obvious answer? Go have fun climbing! He had finished cleaning this wall just prior to his death and so Chris invited his partner Brette Harrington to bring a bunch of his close friends for a sending party prior to his wake. A group of a few crags that sit directly above Browning Lake on the east side of Highway 99. The area now hosts over 20 pitches with excellent sport and trad climbing.
