Description

Moon Hill is considered one of China's premier crags and one of Yangshuo’s most visited tourist attractions. This impressive moon shape karst formation has an elevation of approximately 380 meters offering spectacular views of the surrounding area. The routes are predominantly overhanging requiring both power and endurance. The climbs are mostly in the shade all day and many remain dry during rain.

Access issues

Due to the increasing flux or tourists, the local managers started discouraging rock climbing in this area and the first bolts of each route have be cut down.

Approach

Moon Hill is located in a tourist park (entry fee applies) and access to the crag is via 800 plus steps.

Good climbing immediatly right of EC, unfortunatly with a few to many ledges. Take care on loose thin tufa, and slight run-out to chains.

Very strange bolting with either a huge runout or massive zig zag. Chossy, loose rock in places.

Good climbing up steep tufa feature between PS and EC. DBB.

Classic steep pumper. No particularly hard moves, but no rests either.
