Access issues inherited from Sinai Peninsula

Bedouin guide required in some areas, recommended in all. Very inexpensive, supports local people who have few other employment opportunities, and will massively enrich your stay here. Ask for a guide who works with climbers, in Dahab there are also some Bedouin climbing guides. They're great cooks and drivers, they have camels to get you to the more remote climbs, and you'll make friends for life.

Ethic inherited from Sinai Peninsula

Please. No bolting in St Catherine. This is a National Park and UNESCO world heritage site. You might see some old bolts, don't replace them. And no climbing Mt Sinai or Katrin - be content with the pilgrim paths. For sport climbing, please contact, they have a plan for opening the climbable wadis and are always looking for experienced route setters to help.Other than that, just standard ethics and common sense
