Shutdown quarry filled with water

Used for climbing since the 50ies, the Westbruch has lost importance due to the continued rising of the water table. Consequently, it became a diver's destination (the quarry is rented by a diving club), while most routes have lost their lower parts. For nearly all routes, reaching the base requires rapelling-in or boat access. While the water is clean and fit for swimming, the suitability for DWS is limited because of the partially submerged terraces and the sub-vertical walls.

Access issues

Private property, rented by the diving club. Leave no trace, don't block the access.

There is limited parking at the entrance from Naunhofer Straße, where a chain usually blocks the entry. Even if not there, don't enter by car unless you have contacted the diver's club.
