Description

This is the seperate "dunce cap" shaped spire in front of the Potrero proper, on the right side of the road.

Not many routes, not very good rock, and a longish approach leave this not being climbed very often.

Access issues inherited from El Potrero Chico

Most of the climbing here is in a 'State' Park, but there is no fee. There are a few campsites and rooms available just down the road (i.e. 10 minute walk) from the park entrance.

Grade Route
1
5.10d Bonum de Carnival Sport 50m

This climb starts where the trail meets the rock. Tends to be runout.

2
5.11 Dance of the Dunces Sport 43m, 10

Twenty feet right of "Bonum de Carnival". Also tends to be runout.

3

Climbs the east (closest to the road) ridge of El Bobo. Nasty bushwhack to the base making the climb hard to find. 4 new bolts have been added on the start, but rest is gear.
