Ascents of It Is Pointless To Resist Direct Start

Harder than the 26s I’ve done at Britten, unless you’re well over 6 foot. Fun moves at the bottom but terrible rock quality up high. Don’t know if I’ll come back for this one.

Another flail, another bail. This 25 is the hardest 28 I’ve ever tried.

Finally figured out the beta for the crux, then fluffed it on the easy bit. Too gassed to pull it off today, so the nemesis remains to be vanquished. At least a 27.

This is likely the most frustrating route I’ve ever been on, although other lines at Britten are also contenders for that designation. Came off at the last possible instant today, so one would assume it’ll go soon but who knows. An excellent exercise in humility!

Finally! Figured out a much easier way to round the bulge, making it a legit 25 rather than the grade 27-28 beta I was trying. I’m fully ashamed to admit that I spent more time on this route than much harder climbs, but at least it’s done!
