Description

This boulder lies in the trees just to the left of the stream as you approach it from below.

Access issues inherited from Leliehoek

The climbs lie in the Little Rock resort (formerly known as Leliehoek) which is picturesquely set in a small wooded valley 3 minutes drive from the Ladybrand town centre. The park has the usual camping and chalet facilities as well as a small bar and a sizeable and most welcome outdoor swimming pool. Ladybrand is well catered for with many shops, banks, garages and places to eat. There are plenty of other things to do in the area. The town boasts an 18 hole golf course, hiking and biking trails as well as being the gateway to the Lesotho Highlands. To book, contact the Little Rock reception at: 051–924 0260.

Approach

The track that leads to the braai area turns into a wide path. Turn right just before the stream and cross the stream below a small leaky dam wall. A short scramble up to the right leads to the stream side boulders. The GPS location for the stream side (West) of the boulder is: S29 12.331 E27 26.658. Alternatively, from the swimming pool area, walk down the road and then take the path on the left just before the stream to go past the Red Dragon boulder and then reach the cave. The top of the boulder can be accessed easily from just before the cave.
