Ascents in Happy Island

Awesome climb with a tricky start

We waded out to Happy Island, as the tide was going out. Super fun climb with awesome views.

definitely tricky for the grade, bouldery start then a lot of fun

Fell 2 bolts from the anchor

Ouch! sharp on the hands. Gutsy traverse.

Very hard start for the grade. Had to bail as the tide was coming in. Reattempted it later in the day and good it no probs.

Dan led it. I TRed.

Cranky start followed by goodness. Solid at the grade.

annoyed - start was really hard but if i had more time could have got it - stupid tide

14/1/06: Straight up, giggling with pleasure. 20/11/03: Oh my! Forearms exploded 5m from the top on the onsight attempt, showering onlookers with blood and pulpy flesh. Spectacular, sensational mega-route, with hoards of topless bathers below. Life doesn't get better than this.

held on for the OS even tho I went off route low and right into a 28!! and managed to climb back and finish the right way. Phew!

great route with the top bit unpolished as it's protected by a hard move down low. Really nice.

With David. Amazing natural line of spread out stalactites (bouldery) and then flake (balancy). Must do at the grade. Should have been onsight. Fell off after crux when foot slipped on the balancy stuff.

With David. Tricky climb on sharp rock.

With David. Pretend you are soloing. The bolts are useless. Lucky the holds are not.

With David. Awesome exposed traverse. Easy though. Not too many of these in Thailand.

Just did pitch 1 at 6a.

Harder start, since the stalactite broke off.

Very hard start with the tide out.

2nd shot. Wow - what a move!

tried leading it - very sharp rock, ran out of time, the tide has came on, had to continue on the next day
