Ascents in Wye Valley

How bizarre. Stand underneat and you SWEAR it's a slab, then wonder why you get so pumped, and figure out it actually overhangs. Cool climbing.

hardest onsight so far - v happy with this one!! tough bouldery start and v difficult to clip the first draw

V4 start into 6B. Fun route.

Couldn't feel my feet in borrowed shoes. Still had fun though.

Awesome initial crux which leads to overhang then easy climbing. She steepens and runs out on rattly gear at the top. Climbing gets airy with some big moves on sketchy concretions to finish.

Hard and often psychological. The climbing is nice and reasonably protected.

Nice route, not an obvious line, but it all fits.

shame the good climbing doesn't last long...

I did a mix of routes. We really need a topo of this area.

6a+ if you use the big ledge on the left after coming round the arete, v cool for the grade

So far the only climb here i thought was an actual 3*. well worth it.

Nice route which requires some thinking at the crux

Not many cracks this sustained in the area. Wouldnt standup to the jamming in some places, but good for a fix.

Led odds. Stiff at E1.

Very nice bridging. My guide has it at e2, but e1 is probably fairer.

felt pretty pushy for the grade but I was also quite dehydrated after a day of trad in the sun!

Best route in the white slab in my opinion

bit shit and loose on the first pitch, and more compact but average climbing on the second
