Ten Sleep is a major sport climbing spot featuring excellent limestone crags in different orientations and at different altitudes allowing for excellent climbing for most of the year (except winter).
Ten Sleep canyon is located along highway 16 between Worland and Buffalo and can easily be reached from both, east and west. The cliffs and sectors are located on both sides along the canyon. Choose the right pull-out to park and follow the instructions for the different cliffs to reach them.
Most of the climbing is located in the Bighorn National Forest. There is dispersed camping along the old road (forest road 18, which is closed for traffic from Nov 16 to Jun 15 every year), there is the Ten Sleep Rock Ranch at the entrance of the canyon and the Ten Sleep Brewing Company in Ten Sleep where you can camp. There is an RV park and a log cabin motel - short, there are plenty of options to stay.
Sport climbing in Ten Sleep started in the mid 80's and continues to develop.
