Although the outdoor climbing and bouldering opportunities in the Bay Area are reasonably limited, what the region does offer, thanks to its violent geological history, is an impressive variety of rock types.
This creates a wide variety of climbing styles, which helps to keep the stoke alive even after you've visited every crag.
And being a weekend trip away from the endless amount of world-class climbing in the 'Sierra Nevada Range' certainly doesn't make this a bad place to be a climber!
For any/all access issues at crags in this region, please contact the Bay Area Climbers Coalition.
Did you know that you can create an account to record, track and share your climbing ascents? Thousands of climbers are already doing this.
