Climbing consists of basalt rock formations from volcanic activity.

Description:

Fossil Falls is a climbing spot with beautiful basalt rock formations that was once a multitude of waterfalls. The rating of the climbs are typically rated lower than the relative difficulty but it doesnt take away from the great climbing. Almost all the climbs are toprope accessible and there are several areas that can have new routes set up. Nearby is a small bouldering field that consists of a couple well established boulders.

Access Issues:

The lower portions of the falls have experienced territorial disputes with nearby private landowners. These landowners often prevent climbers from using the lower portions but with friendly negotiation it is accessible.

The boulders have a variety of features. There are plenty of sharp crimpy routes, overhangs with slopers, pinches, pockets, and slabs.

Description:

Group of boulders located a few miles East of Fossil Falls but has similar basalt rock formations. There are a few local classics that are great climbs and plenty of others. The rock is very unsuitable to climb on during summer days because it gets extremely hot.
