Did you know?

Did you know that you can create an account to record, track and share your climbing ascents? Thousands of climbers are already doing this.

The Blob is the blob-like formation north of "The Old Woman", along the western edge of the Hidden Valley Campground.

From the Intersection Rock parking lot, walk past Old Woman on the left to the Blob. Maybe 5 minutes across flat gound. Though, many climbs start part way up a boulder field and require some scrambling to reach.

Descent notes

Though the guide suggests there is a walk-off, there is nothing in the way of a comfortable or easy walk-off. Most of the descent choices require very exposed 4th class or low 5th class down-climbing.

There are objects (a large natural thread, a good sized boulder) near the north end of the top that can be slung and rappelled from, though.

Ethic inherited from Joshua Tree National Park

Be aware that you are climbing and staying in a National Park. Certain rules apply for climbers regarding climbing and camping, please make sure to get the latest rules once you enter the park.
