Climb Grade

I recently climbed Stolen Chimney. Like almost everyone else I used the bolt ladders. When I went to record the climb in The Crag it was only listed as 5.11a. Using the bolt ladders makes it a 5.8 A0. I didn't mess with the listing because I'm not a Moab climber and some people there put a lot of effort in setting up the climbs list for that area. Since most people use the bolt ladders shouldn't there be a 5.8 A0 designation too?

I'm pretty sure you can make this designation on your ascent when you log it or update it later. There are some system changes required to make alternate grade designations as you suggest.

Hi Jim,

To Edit your ascent:

  1. Click on the 'Logbook' tab from your main dashboard page

  2. Place the cursor over the row with your 'Stolen Chinmey' ascent and then a little 'Action' button will appear at the right end of the row.

  3. Go > Action > Edit

  4. In the Edit screen change the 'Ascent Grade' to 5.8 A0 using the drop-down menus.

Cheers (PS Nice tick by the way- must feel good to be on top of the pillar).
