Hi just wondering what the access situation for short cool ones and mosquito wall at mt beerwah is right now? I dont want any fines or boulders on my head! Cheers
There are 2 ways to get there: 1-go to the picnic area (where the toilets are) and easy bush-bash 20m left of the closed tourist track down to the creek, then uphill through nasty scrub and vines until you reach the rock (20min). 2- a faint track 10m before east beerwah access track (before carpark) leads downhill passing 3 dry creeks until ends in thick bush just 20m from the rock under a big cave. From here follow the rock apron right for 10 min or so.
Mozzie wall: from picnic area follow closed 4wd track west for 150m then bush-bash left towards the mountain for 10 min until steep terrain and thick bush. Keep going up and slight right until you reach the rock 50/60m right of closed tourist lookout area. Mosquito wall should be not far right.
Far bigger the chance to get a fine than a boulder on your head. Every time I'm at Beerwah I find threatening hand-written notes on my windscreen from the rangers.
