Very short laybacking section on P2 and early in P3. Both are a little tricky and perhaps difficult to place gear whilst in those areas. Did as 2 pitches

Snake was sun bathing right at the belay spot. Looked like a blue belly black snake. Took a little while getting it to move on. Linked P1&2 which was great climbing and some nice lay backing. Start of P3 felt a bit tough for 16 but could've been my technique. Second half of P3 is choosy and not that nice. But good to finish by topping out.

Really the best part of this is the second worst part of Toll. Its rather generic for most part and can be linked into a single pitch. The top however is horrendous, a campus start on very fragile rock with a nasty deck potential. Rock broke under me and its closer to 17 than 13. Be very careful and consider walking out of herbaceous gully instead.

Lovely jam crack with a couple of intricate moves, but nothing really insecure. Would get classic appart from the terrible chossy top section. Have started a discussion on how to improve.

No access issues.

Mega classic day, ran a little late so seconded the third pitch on speaker phone to my GP in a telehealth, so extra challenge of getting it clean without running out of breath. Extra spice to the eve 👌

Second pitch pumped me out a little (lot) so had to take a sit- time to learn how to jam corner cracks rather than laybacking it all 0.o

A friend recommended belaying under the roof for an awesome scenic spot, and I impulsively decided to just link from the ground to there. For no good reason I thought the roof crack was finger sized and it wouldn't matter that I had to put every larger piece into the 40m of crack before. Alas, it is #3/4 sized and the small gear anchor I found was quite low and awkward. Still a lovely ledge to hang out and eat some lunch. Would do 2 pitches to the roof next time. A little wet deep in the chimney today but nothing we needed to use.

The crux on P2 felt hard for the grade. I started doing it as a layback but quickly felt exhausted. Transitioned to stemming and hand jams, which felt more awkward but less strenuous. The crux didn't feel any easier than higher-grade corners I've climbed recently like 'The Silk Road' (19) at Pierces Pass and 'Amen Corner' (18) at Piddo.

Linked P1, P2, and the start of P3 to the ledge just under the roof. This was accidental... I'd intended to link just P1 and P2, but when I got to (what I now realize was) the actual P2 ledge, it didn't seem like I'd gone 30m... guess I should have paid more attention to the rusty bolts.

Would have had a more comfortable stance at the roof belay if I'd kept the big gear and made an anchor at the top of the roof (which we ended up doing anyway once Joey brought all the gear up), but instead I made do with a hanging belay below the ledge.

As it was, turns out I linked all the best climbing into one long pitch, and if only Joey had agreed to swing as planned he would have been left leading the crappy rock with crappy gear (since the #3s and #4 were in the anchor) and heinous rope drag that made up the remainder of P3. To finish, I climbed up the slopey blocks, and all I could see was choss and suspect vegetation (guess I missed the carrots). So I walked out right on the ledge to belay off some rings ('008' maybe?).

Gear: 2 x #.3-.75, 3 x #1&#2, 2 x #3, 1 x #4

A great 23 which is well protected. Pumpy start with some good rest spots, gets thinner mid way then a few big moves to finish off. A nice knee bar half way up for a rest. Worth the run up, will try to get back and tick it.

A great trad climb worth anyone's time. Damo ran up pitches 1 & 3, I did 2. Beautiful lay back climb, loved leading pitch 2 but pitch 3 was bloody hard with a backpack and spare rope on my back. Bit of an awkward scramble to get up to the carrots. And the rap in from cave climb is a bit spicy when walking out to the rap ledge.

Sunrise send with Greer!! what a great corner crack! Climbed as 2 pitches: Pitch 1 great just enough feet to wander up till the lay back section. Pitch two, hard move off the belay. I ended up with a fist and hand jam combo to get over the move, then quite nice to the top. double ropes really helped with the rope drag here!

P1 and P2 definitely needs to be linked together; there's no other way to do it!

I really am not a huge fan of laybacks, I just suck at them... But I managed to pull through with extremely odd lay-backing technique, which involved dangling my right leg and just hopping my left foot (which was smearing) up the wall...

Bolts should be chopped. Even I didn't clip them!

Didn't do the top pitch.

An apprenticeship in laybacking!

This climb will gobble up number 1s and 2s.

P1 and P2 combined: Fairly easy climbing until you hit the fun bit. Now for the past 2-3 weeks I had been 'jamming' in Piddo and I tried the same on Tol.

"Mate you wanna try laybacking here", advised Harry. And as the Italians say, 'Buonissimo'.

P3: "Harry, I am thinking I should place another piece here", I try to calm myself while holding on with a good(?) hand jam. "Mate if you are thinking about it, I think that's when you really should", best advice ever.

I pop in #2 half a meter above a bomber #1 , commit to the layback, swim up with the arms and feet. Placed the left on a slopey foot hold, stood up and 'Bazzinga'. I end up next to Harry. First trad fall, now the doors of potential in my trad climbing days have really opened.

The chimney is not as bad as they say. Good gear and 'yes' there is a bit of chossy rock around but as long as you are mindful of what you are pulling and stepping on, 'she will be alright'.

Super awesome corner crack at the grade and great rock quality. A double rack is good to link P1 and P2 together. I rap cleaned off the two carrots so that Louis could lead, and as we pulled the rope, the storm came in and I got drenched belaying. We exited left from the cave onto Tal, to avoid a wet chossy chimney.

Probably the second best easy corner crack in the mountains! A super awesome route and a great consolation prize after the awful morning at The Soft Parade. I got to lead all the pitches because after linking the first two i thought it was so good that i would just rap off the hanger and carrot so Harry could lead it and i could climb it again on second. The last pitch was pretty rad as well as it continued up the corner and traversed under the roof but the scary choss chimney to top out was a bit average. Belayed off bomber trad on top and then walked off to go and retrieve our rope from Cave Climb. Another highlight of the route was our encounter with a beautiful and super chill python that hung out on the belay ledge to our left for a good while. Radness

Would be "good" if it ended just before crossing Tal, OR if it crossed Tal and continued independently up the arete to a loweroff at the roof. Instead, this climb is 15m of good technical arete climbing (on slightly snappy rock, and with 2 hideous bolt placements), surrounded by 35m of grade nothing runout doddle on average rock. I blew the onsight at the last bolt, when I sandbagged myself onto the wrong side of the arete (and then continued to attempt the route this way for about 15min before realising it was much easier on the other side). Quite runout on both the bolted section, and the gear section above.

Seconding Neil. A bloody classic route up an inspiring, soaring line... Sure, the exit pitch is grotty, barely protectable and snappy, but even it cannot detract from the spectacular first 40m of crack-climbing bliss. Rather challenging at the grade.

A great route, and ALMOST a classic. A bloody sandbag at the original grade (you've scored a 23 well before you read the CRUX of the route). Managed to Onsight to the last bolt, before being totally shutdown by the dyno (to a 1-pad crimp, and off bad feet) at the end. Sustained and varied climbing, with some very engaging slabbing and a gnarly finish. Definitely struggled in the ludicrous heat today (and being weak from not climbing for 5 weeks) and wasn't sure I could tick it second shot.

Okay climbing up an interesting feature, though rather short. Would probably be higher-rated if it was an all-gear route with the same loweroffs (so you don't have to do the rubbish aid pitch above).

It's all about the traverse pitch! A nice surprise a bit after the traverse to find a hidden carrot bashed into the floor of the ledge. The single carrot 2nd belay can be backed-up with a cam 2m out right.

Awesome, great fist jams the whole way up! Learn from our mistake and take some big gear...

tried the right side wall (optional second pitch in guide book) lead to chossy traverse. Left side (second pitch) better for second.

Nope, I actually don't love this climb enough to do it twice over a weekend... Retrieving gear from yesterday.

Z-drags were a helping hand after challenging exposure for the beginner

Would probably rate it a grade higher because of the hard-to-protect traverse.

Late start turned into watching sunset on one of the belay ledges and then climbing by torchlight. Bit of foliage at the end of P3.

Great climb. Probably one of the best 16s I have done in the mountains.
