This route is nails, and that's just the easier part. At least it was shady.

This was a pretty weak couple of goes on the first sequence. The route looks very good, but I might pencil this one in as an aspiration.

Working the hard first sequence, to properly tire myself out. Worked!

Doable, but gonna take some work. Would probably go easier if I didn't try to climb it a different way every attempt.

Got the first crux worked out at last. Couple more sessions for a clean ascent, maybe. Lead ascent remains a daunting prospect

Still a grovel at the top, but progress nonetheless.

Two tries on top rope, neither clean but both better than last time. Let's get a clean shot, then try the lead.

Got this dialed. Very close to a clean ascent today, just some carelessness on the undercling move. I should probably stop putting off the lead and get this done.

Gah, not all all the glorious pinkpoint that I saw in my head. Took a big fall past at the middle ledge and decided to swear off lead climbing for life.

This is nails hard. At least I cheated my way to the top this time.

Dunno if making the third clip counts as "working". Worked out one move, though. Will be a good sequence.

I can do pretty much all the individual moves on this, while fresh. The trouble is stringing them all together.

Got the first couple of moves worked out. Deft footwork is certainly required for this one.

Haaaaaaard on the fingers, this one. A new aspiration.

Man, this is one promising selection of super-cool, super-hard moves. I may upgrade it to classic if I can ever put them all together one day.

Flailing around on a brand-new climb is always hilarious. Couldn't make it past the crux. This one feels sequency as heck, and very hard on the fingertips.

I see some potential nice sequences here. This climb would probably be a bunch easier if Kym Campbell would stop breaking off the holds.

Had a crack at this after watching the others, forgot what they did and brute-forced the first half. It's a fun time - big overhang, and falls are practically risk-free! Pumpy and demanding, requires forearm endurance, good footwork and finger tape. Will return.

Must. Get. Stronger.

Top rope with (much) rest, but finally got up this with a bunch of coaching. Sequency as heck.

Initial work on a classic route. Gotta spend more time on the hangboard!

Upon spending more time working this route, I'm prepared to update it to classic status. The crux seems to be a superb series of moves that need to be done exactly right to carry it off. The big project for 2015.

We can do the first crux sensibly now. Progress!

Good work session. Learned the start, worked out the best way through the crux, practised the hard move after that. Totally doable.

The practice finally paid off with a clean ascent. A personal best! Back soon to try for the clean lead.

Finally nailed this cleanly on lead, despite my apparent desire to reinvent half the moves each time I climb it. Classic!!!

Working, still working. At least I got to look at the easier top section today. Watching Kym put it all together was a great incentive!

Tried the lead, had an awesome long fall and got freaked out. Went back on top rope to practice that 2nd crux sequence a bit more. Getting better.

After a discouraging practice turn, I was very pleased to make it up this entire route. Superbly atmospheric moves up the arete, followed up by haaard slab moves on tiny features. Thanks to a patient belay partner, and mad props to Kym for doing it clean on lead.

Couldn't stick the overhang.

Lead attempt. Finger strength, much? More finesse required than I got.

Cheated my way to the end on top rope. Back to the campus board. Good climb, though.

Had a decent try at the start of this - so that's what a 23 crux move feels like. Watched Kym pull it off, so I know it's possible. Another day.

Too hard for me today. The section after the second clip shut me down totally.

Pretty hard for the grade, with a strenuous crimpy crux move to get through in the middle. A cryptic sequence, but at least we worked it out this time.

The crux requires finesse to get through, not to mention a couple of serious crimps. After that, it changes up into a slab requiring balance and nerve. Recommended!

Hahaha nope. Sandbag much? A single point harder than SSD I don't think.

A good route, with one very nervy clip (the fourth) and a strenuous crux move straight after (took a couple of tries to work it out). The rest is straightforward.

The start is good, anyway.

I had no answer to the second bolt today. It's tough. Aided my way up shamelessly to at least see the top.

Tried this on lead, took a look at the crux: NOPE. Cheated my way to the top after we set up a top rope.

Challenging, dynamic and technical. Good technique, powerful grip and nerves of steel will get you through the crux. One day.

Take your time making the first clip, it's surprisingly nervy to make that step up.

A variety of technical and balancy moves makes this a really satisfying one to tick off. Got the two overhang moves dialled tonight.

A tough one - once you get through the balancy start, the rest is hard climbing to the last clip. Nowhere to rest, and more than one difficult move to pull off. Like bouldering, but 15m tall!

Fell on the last move. Bah.

Was very close to writing this off as an impossible waste of time, then worked out a way to get through the starting overhang. Bazinga! Will come back another day and try the lead.

Got to the top rest, then couldn't face the razor-sharp holds at the end.

Blasted straight through the crux this time, only to find that the next couple of clips are pretty hard work too.

Wild contortions to get through the overhang, then efficient moves to scale the arete. It's pretty doable, once you know how.

This one is probably one of the best routes in this area. Pity I flubbed it so hard!

Got up with plenty of shouted beta. This is the best of what I climbed today, possibly of the whole crag. Remarkably consistent in difficulty over the entire route.

Totally forgot how to do this

Couple of boulder problems, some delicate slab, some technical face climbing. The whole package. Wish I was a stronger climber.

A messy dog of an ascent on top rope. At least I made it all the way up this time.

Too tired to finish the middle section. At least I worked out the first move again

Without doubt, one of the best lines in Perth - a classic. I couldn't get around the base of the first arete cleanly; something to come back to.

Mastered the arete, made the middle look easy, completely choked on the upper ledge and finish. Superb, classy route.

Microscopic holds, paper-thin edges - who doesn't love slab climbing? And a bonus peanut gallery of onlookers to spur you on!
