Ascents as Red point or Greenpoint by DOT

In the rain. Nearly sat on my gear as the jugs filled up with water. Still got some work to do on my head. (Had climbed this route previously.)

This is ace for an 8, good climbing on good rock with bomber big gear!

This is quality route for the grade at this crag - interesting climbing with decent gear. The biggest challenge is getting a run at it while there aren't any guided groups hanging off a top-rope on it.

Gave me a demo of how unfit I am these days!

First route back climbing since having a hip replacement. The gear is there but it helps if you like flaring cracks. The rock on this route is pretty decent, probably because it gets so much guided group traffic.

The rock's not shit, so the route is better than some, and it climbs OK.. but it's not mind blowing.

2nd shot. Retro-onsight attempt for warm-up went poorly - found the route pretty pumpy and hard to read. Fun climbing once I knew I wasn't going to pump off and hit a ledge.

All natural. An exciting start without the first bolt but good gear all the way.

Last session was a sick dog... this one was a sick send. Super stoked this went down - I kept a clear mind through a headache. Back in March when we tried to top-rope this route I thought I'd never be able to climb it, much less lead it. The progress continues..

My plan was to do another route as a warm up, then fire this first go. Things went according to plan. Onwards.

Second go. First go my fingers were ice. I enjoyed this. Thought it climbs quite well. Good Spurt warmup for me.

Lead all pitches, down-climbed last pitch and rapped from ring bolts.

Fun, bouldery, lip traversing through the roof. Sent this in just a few goes. No clear crux, just fun monkey'ing.

My first sport lead in a long time! Took me a few goes to fire up to it, but got there in the end. Even took some falls....
