Ascents by David Jefferson having Distinct route

Draws on onsight, equipped from SJ. This route really exceeded my expectations. Super fun and flowy movement up the arête.

A bit wandery from side to side to figure out the sequence, but reasonably logical. Needs another bolt at the top to be a proper sport climb.

Came within a hair of pulling off the onsight, but wasn’t quite in balance for the crux. Lowered from the crux and sent easily second go. Not hard above the second bolt, but definitely keeps you on your toes!

Went second attempt of the day, fourth burn overall (following a top rope flash and a pink point last week). What more superlatives can I bestow upon this line? A mega classic and a great experience.

Powerful crack climbing, brilliant and very much a unicorn for the Port Hills. Good gear but also rather finicky in places.

Climbed a slight variant, also good fun.

Finally unlocked the crux, which is extremely thin and fingery. Will come back with some trad gear and have a proper crack soon. 25 in Tony’s guide, which seems accurate. Certainly a harder crux than other 25s at Lyttelton.

Climbed clean through the crux of Raj but couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to climb the arête direct while staying off of the two adjacent routes. Ended up finishing up Raj instead.
