★★★ Watchtower Crack
- with

weirdly the most straight forward grade of the weekend. big gear to the rescue. I love the climbs that chill out at the top so i can just enjoy life and the view and top out thinking i love climbing rather than swearing off it for life. the word 'soaring' is certainly not used lightly

feels like a baby sibling to spartan in the bluies, first pitch and all. did not heed local advice and found the roof a bit more cruxy than usual due to spooge nation. biggest piece was #4 and sure its fine, but if you enjoy stress free climbing, bring a #5.

sad to see this as a 16 on the crag but oh well. the climb that taught my to trust chockstones and to yank on them no end to get up the climb. my first ow moves at frawg! on day one! how good!

a delightful respite from the sun. the plethora of cracks to choose from inside the smokestack was overwhelming

16 | ★★★ The Wars of the Roses (pitch 1) - with Tom Bes | 22m | Wolgan Valley | ★★ Very Good | Thu 25th Jun 2020
Corner, crack, many yellow c4s, great stances. Did use a 4 up top. Just watch some of the hardware on your rope-or don't and you'll be fine. Enjoy pulling the rope and thank the Wolgan Titans for assisting you in the process.

16 | ★ Brick Dust - with Ethan | 22m | Arapiles | Mon 23rd May 2022
climbed something called brick easy. This into squeakeasy after the crux bulge. Nice way to retrieve my gear. And got to work the crux moves of squeakeasy, which went in isolation. so that was a minor win after a big day of shutdowns. i was waiting for a shutdown for the entire trip and when it finally came, i felt like an absolute failure. was not ready for the emotional dejection. felt gross at the time, but was a valuable experience in hindsight. i am now at peace with my status as an abject failure

16 16/17 | ★★★ You don't miss the zohan - with Tom Bes | 30m | Blue Lake | Wed 30th Dec 2020
contrived fursure, but with so many ways up the corner who cares? finger crack up left side of corner, to try to stay exclusively on the right side from here on up. some good jams and gear, great way cap the trip without another epic ensuing

16 | ★★★ Deep Space - Sickle - with Tom Bes | 90m | Orroral area | Sun 22nd Jan 2023
omglob the runout on pitch 2 - like yes its fine but it's most certainly don't fall climbing. and then the wall behind was equally as unprotected with just some dodgy cracked flakes for gear. harder climbing than the slab with way more fall potential. the final pitch of sickle was sick. sad but also stoked Tom handed me the sharp end. One tough move into the crack and then it was 'jam your way to the hearts of millions' (another fav way to finish a climb)

fact: only way to make an 'R' rated climb safer is to simul it and climb it in one glorious pitch. a climb i will gladly climb time and time again

worst pitch in the mountains followed by the best. but the second pitch thankfully makes up for its ugly junk sibling below. ps i guess we bailed?
